Thumbs Up for Healthy Life! the project aims to raise awareness on one of the biggest public health issue in today’s world which is ‘’obesity’’. Informing children and parents on the purpose of obtaining healthy life culture by promoting young population to physical activity and healthy nutrition, the project will be carried. Total of 45 participants from Netherlands, Turkey, Portugal and Bulgaria will take part in the project and several activities will be implemented for 10 days.
These activities include; creative drama workshops, Slowfood and Healthy Life culture workshops, technical visits to local producers, cultural events, interviews and briefings with local residents, sport and nutrition workshops with kids and families within ‘’All the world Festival’’, social media and building new projects for health workshops. The project is in European scope and it makes contribution to reach the targets such as; creating healthy individuals and society, increasing productivity and efficeiency, Europe 2020 economic growth and moreover it aims to ‘’promoting a healthier environment for kids and youngs’’ , ‘’ informing youngs and parents ‘’ and ‘’ promoting pyhsical activity’’. Also, there is going to be a contribution to employability, active citizenship and self-development of youngs through skills and competencies that participants will gain. Participants will be encouraged to involve in a nonformal learning process within the project where they will ask questions and seek for answer such as ; how learning process work?, identifying weaknesses and strengths, questioning how to make difference, how much they apply the concept ‘’ think global, act local’’, which social skills to have in order to be effective in teamwork, what kind of technical information they need to have.
